Revenues received by Georgia in the tourism sector will exceed $3 billion by the end of 2022, Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said, Report informs referring to TASS.
“This indicator directly affects the creation of new jobs and the improvement of the well-being of local residents,” she noted.
At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), she said that the reason to expect such income is the fact that Georgia managed to 100% restore pre-pandemic profits in tourism.
The 117th meeting of the UNWTO Executive Committee is being held in Morocco, where topical issues in the field of tourism and travel are discussed.
