Türkiye hopes for a positive result in the issue of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters upon his return from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.
“We are now waiting for a clear answer from the US on this issue. We hope that without much delay we will get the expected positive result. This shows how important it is to be a self-sufficient country in terms of the defense industry... Therefore, we have started producing our own UAVs. Now we need the F-16, so we are trying to create the next generation fighter,” Erdogan said.
