A major wildfire in southwestern France has forced the urgent evacuation of 12,000 people, Report informs, citing French media.
About 7,000 of those evacuated were holidaymakers from Lège-Cap-Ferret.
According to the government, more than 12,500 fires have broken out in France since the beginning of the year, burning 44,000 hectares.
That figure is higher than in 2022, when unprecedented fires in scale and duration burned more than 30,000 hectares of forest in the Landes de Gascogne area.
