The United Nations is working with other units of the Mine Action Service (UNMAS) on the emergency deployment in Karabakh, a spokesman for the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations told RIA Novosti.
According to Report, the unnamed representative said in response to the question, "Does UNMAS plan to assist Azerbaijan in clearing mines in the Nagorno-Karabakh zone?"
"UNMAS and other agencies are working on an emergency deployment in the context of the assistance requested by the parties. It is expected that the mission will begin its work in early December, taking into account the parties' needs on the ground."
