Some 24 of the 30 NATO countries have ratified the protocol on the membership of Sweden and Finland in the Alliance, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
Report informs, citing TASS, that he said there is still a divergence of views between the Alliance and Turkiye on this issue, saying they are working, however, to overcome this divergence.
It should be noted that at the NATO summit held in Madrid in June, an agreement was reached on the admission of Sweden and Finland to the Alliance. Official Ankara has repeatedly declared that it will not approve the protocols if the terrorists who have found refuge in Sweden and Finland are not handed over to Turkiye.
