US and Lebanon have recognized Israel's right to maintain a security zone in southern Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a press conference.
According to Report, citing Ynet, Netanyahu described the framework agreement with Lebanon as historic, saying it represents progress toward ending the conflict.
"Under the agreements reached, the United States and Lebanon have recognized Israel's right to maintain a security zone. I firmly defended Israel's vital interests and strongly opposed any attempts to force us to withdraw," Netanyahu said.
He added that the agreement reflects a significant diplomatic achievement aimed at improving security conditions along Israel's northern border.
