The Azerbaijan national volleyball team defeated Portugal in its opening match of the European Championship in Baku.
According to Report, Faig Garayev's side defeated Portugal 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 27-25, 25-20) in their Group C match. The tournament is indeed being held in Baku from August 21 to 28, with Azerbaijan competing alongside Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Spain.
Azerbaijan will play its next match against Spain on August 23.
The Group C matches are being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku through August 28.
