Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Mustafa Sentop has met with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.
According to Report, Sentop said on Twitter that during the meeting they discussed the issue of NATO enlargement. The sides also stressed the importance of achieving results in war on terror.
"For seventy years now, Turkiye has been one of the two powers that ensured NATO's might. Unlike some other European countries, Turkiye's presence in NATO is not symbolic. Turkiye is a country that provides the security support to the Alliance," he said.
Sentop voiced hope that the issue of Sweden and Finland's NATO membership will soon be resolved successfully.
