IRCICA: Azerbaijai religious monuments destroyed by Armenians is manifestation of Islamophobia

The actions of Armenians towards religious monuments of the Azerbaijani people during the years of occupation are also a manifestation of Islamophobia, the Director General of the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), Professor Mahmut Erol Kilic, said in a statement to Report.

Kilic stressed that although Armenians claim to profess Christianity, which is based on mercy, they did not show this mercy in their actions.

"They destroyed temples, mosques, historical monuments. Even today, they do not allow the UNESCO mission to check the condition of Azerbaijani monuments located on the territory of Armenia. Is this Christianity? What kind of interreligious dialogue is this?!", Kilic said.

The professor noted that Armenians committed similar actions in Türkiye. "They killed Muslims, Turks. But these issues were not properly addressed," Kilic added.
