The facility, commissioned in 2013, has been managed since 2016 by SOCAR's subsidiary, SOCAR Methanol LLC, and was formally transferred to the company's ownership in August 2017. With an annual production capacity of 650,000–700,000 tons, the plant uses natural gas and desalinated water as its primary raw materials.
